The Rise and Fall of Muhammad Ali Jinnah
In 1918, Muhammad Ali Jinnah married Ratan by Pettit. She was only 18 while he was in his early 40s and she converted to Islam soon after marrying him. As a result, she was excommunicated from the Zor Aestrian community. Meanwhile, World War I was coming to a close and Indians began to demand more independence from Britain. And it was around this time that a lawyer named Mohandas Gandhi began his Satyangraha movement. The Indian National Congress fully adoptedSatyangraha from Gandhi. Ultimately, Gandhi's views won out and Jinnah's career came to a standstill.
