It comes down to a matter of, how does authority work? What is authority laying down. If all these things are part of god's covenant with israel, and we're not in that covenant, then you've got this whole issuef so how do those apply to us their ancient world?, he asks. John would say, don't do that. We want an external authority to decide what's in and out,. but that line is not as definite as people may think it.
