Do You Have to Convert Your Traditional IRA Accounts to Do a Backdoor Roth?

If you have a traditional IRA, what the IRS makes you do is they actually make you pro-rata convert. So if you have 6,000 you put in as non-deductible and 100,000 was deductible, you have to pro- rata convert the deductible traditional dollars that are just your regular traditional IRA dollars,. along with your non-dedUCTible that you put in to do the backdoor Roth. If you have a 401k, even a solo 401k or an employer 401k, you can move the money from the IRA. But other third party employees, the solo K doesn't work.
