Dealing With Adversity
"I can't really say that I dealt with adversity growing up, I created my own," he says. "Just because I was crazy enough to throw hugely leveraged bets out there because I was young and stupid, it doesn't make me a genius." He blew up his account several times in the early '90s but never lost any of what he had built up during those years. "[The] market has a pretty good mechanism for teaching you that you're not smarter than everybody," Stern adds.
