The Importance of Being Honest
Hinton was offered a job or to take money from the DoD to send his technology to them. He turned it down, which a lot of people wouldn't have done. And he says he does not believe in using AI for war, war machines. So when I put those two pieces together, I think he's pretty honorable in his worries. Is he overreacting? I don't know. But I liked the fact that the guy that invented it is actually concerned and putting those concerns out publicly instead of behind the scenes.
