The Free Will Problem Is a Conceptual Problem
Why do so many people instinctively opt for an incompatibilist position? It's a very difficult question and one I think that philosophers have neglected to attend to and answer. Go back to what the free will problem is about insofar as there's a problem to do with causation. Is the operation of one power consistent with or inconsistent with the other power, our power to determine for ourselves what we do by exercising freedom?
