After Pearl Harbor, then they all had to just shut the hell up for a while and have a giant war. By the time the war was over, most of them were gone. Been essentially silenced by the new right wing or the new conservative movement that arises in the 1950s. They replaced him with a bunch of Neocons, a bunch of ex-communists. You can see the same kind of thing play out with the Occupy movement and the Tea Party movement after the economic crash of 08 and into 2009. It's too bad it was stupid leftist hippies who weren't thinking nearly broadly enough at all.
