The belief that humility, in turning the other cheek are important moral values is simply a result of being tricked into thinking that so that people could rule over you without threat of retaliation. It's really almost an exact parallel with what the guy was arguing about free will and and what you said were, it's useful for both the oppressors and the oppressed. The oppressors like, they're happy if you want to think that real freedom doesn't involve political freedom, because then they can take away your rights and take away your liberty and exploit you for their ends. And it's also good for the people who are under subjugation, because they have, it's good for their self image.
