Machiavelli's Influence on Others

I think Machiavelli was conscious that some of his bigger effects would be indirect, that others would have to sort of take up the task that came after him. So I think the most superficial reading that doesn't investigate any of his examples, but just kind of follows them for what he claims that they teach you, that alone creates a kind of desire for his knowledge. At least that's the way that the work is rhetorically structured,. But I also think his influence on others. It's interesting.
