The Importance of Calvary Chapel

Lonnie Johnson: Calvary Chapel has influenced a lot of, I would say, charismatic movements. He says Chuck Smith was famous for the Moses model; now we're reverting back to an Old Testament model where the Holy Spirit speaks only to your pastor and then he has to disseminate the words of God to his people. LZ: Instead of us watching a movie about what Jesus did among unbelievably ordinary messed up people, we're hearing about the words of these celebrities that we're making - even Lonnie being a celebrity.
