Toyota started selling its all electric car five months ago and it's had some problems. Compared to global rivals like Volkswagen or GM, Toyota has been pushing mainly hybrid cars. They are also investing heavily on fuel cell cars which use batteries fueled by hydrogen. Some analysts believe that Toyota wants to change the business model involving EVs.

More FTSE-listed companies have issued profit warnings this quarter than at any time since 2008, and jet shortages are hitting airlines hard. Plus, the FT’s Eri Suguira explains why Toyota is struggling to produce fully electric vehicles.
