Thunderclap Headache - What Causes It?
Thunderclap headache is defined as a very severe headache of abrupt onset, which reaches maximum intensity within one minute or less. The most common causes are sub arachnoid hemorrhage and reversible cerebral vaso constriction cindrum. Other vascular causes include cerebral venus sinus thrambosis, dissection of extra or intercranial arteries,. Intera cerebral hemorrhage, acute ascemic stroke and acute hypertensive crisis. Non vascular causes such as menangitis and acute complicated sin citis require immediate evaluation.
