Do You Have a Database of ROMs?
In the early days, a lot of times, all we had were the ROMs. We had to figure out, and we had to guess what was behind them. MAME can actually cross reference, you can give it a file and say, hey, is this in your database? And it'll do a CRC check to see if that chip is known and what game it belongs to.
