With the threat of invasion lifted, trade was once again starting to flourish between britannia and the continent. It wasn't long before cattle hides, grain, gold, silver, slaves and hunting dogs were all being exported from the island in exchange for wine, oil and glass. So that's how things were going for a while. And then back in rome, augustus was succeeded by tiberius. He started out as a rather good ruler, but eventually he gave in to debauchery and paranoia.
