After a foundation course in art in Liverpool, he went to Central School of Art. At that stage the penny had dropped in terms of graphic design typography as well as full on modernism. He ended up staying there for ten years and learned everything you could possibly learn about the combination of graphic design with journalism. But wow, I'm feeling my first page came out and then telling my mum and dad, you know, Christmas and they'd say, what did you do to me? Did you take the picture? No. Did you write the words? No. What did you do? You want this like rational? Yeah, yeah, okay.
