The study looked at 16 vanguard active funds that had inception dates before 2013. The SPIVA study where we look at 93% of funds are underperforming is a much larger sample size. If you can educate yourselves, I think you'll find there are a lot of benefits in focusing on these key tenants of low expenses, low turnover and tax efficiency.
