The campus is a liberal democratic space if you it is meant to be but it's not always and so you have to fight to do that. The family structure in India is terribly repressive the university space might be actually better because you can actually come out there and say what you can. i remember writing a piece along with a friend which is called from father's to husband's via the college hostel the college hostel was functioning exactly like family surveilling you, she says.
