Harry's confidence is up there a little more than usual because he's carrying this plant around even if it's not actually doing anything for him. Hermione standing up for Ron was a good thing for her to do but I mean you now Ron is the opposite of Harry Malfoy can never get to Harry and the only reason he does in this instance is not because of what he says about Harry so much as what he can do to somebody that Harry cares about with this information.
