Dali lama said that the true value of an action is not measured by its success or failure, but by the motivation behind it. There is tremendous value in actually knowing what our motivations are. It takes a real attentiveness and honesty and sometimes courage to really see what the motive is. We can train our hearts in purifying our motivation. And that's where the real value is.
