Since the late 19 seventies, it's fallen by three months on average per decade. Is that because we have better nutrition now since the seventies? I would say it's probably the opposite. Its more salidmentary life styles and a decline in the quality of nutrition children are receiving. We do know that if children are heavier, they're more likely to start puberty earlier. But in the context of covid and the studies we've discussed, they actually didn't find that. So when they looked at children who were diagnosed pre pandemic and post pandemic, there wasn't a significant difference in weight. Early puberty affects only like one in five thousand to one in ten thousand
