William Beaumont was born in some in Connecticut in 1785 he left home in 1806 he goes on to become a doctor. He met Alexander St. Martin a French Canadian who was accidentally wounded by discharging a musket the musket ball pierced the abdominal wall and passed into the stomach leaving a gaping hole.
