The Beginnings of Drama

Drama is interesting because it exemplifies what i call necessary distance. It's a bit like the sulphy that's taken very, very close. But when you see human beings represented in front of you, lifelike on a stage, far from distancing you, it connects you to them. You inhabit them, and you have a kind of emphatic feeling for them. And always was the point of drama to to help elicit in the viewer,. until we get to vertal brecht deliberately producing the so called efenduns effect.
