Are Gender and Monogamy Adaptable?

Sex is at least 500 million years old, and our lineage alone may be closer to one and a half billion years old. In mammals, you can't change your sex. Gender being the behaviora manifestation of sex. Can men be paternal in a way that is like a maternal engagement with their own offspring? Of course there are. And pretending otherwise is just reality denying. But then it's all so obviously true that we do have sexual demorphism. Women will always be constrained by some aspects of anatomy and physiology,. by gestation and lectation right? That's never going to be the domain of men.
