Is There a Plato in Melodrama?
If i watch soap operas ten hours a day and then go off on vacation, am i going like plato would say, my psyche will be saturated with these desires for romantic activity? Whereas the way aristotles, commonly understood at least, would be that, since i got it out of my system by watching these shows, i can go off and not think about those things. I meanw where am i going? I'm going to some hotel ti's advertised, this is where you canfind your true love. Sothose are two, i think, different images of what different kinds of art can do.
