How to Use Contact Mics to Make Sound Effects
contact mics don't care about the air. They just care about what's shaking. And you know, that's all right by me. You can add oodles of gain and they are very quiet. If you take a contact mic and a guitar and just play around, you'll get some sound effects. I mean, it's pretty much guaranteed. Like the strings, if you rub the strings directly with a contact mic, it's just this crazy,. It's almost like what the plectrum here is - which is amazing actually because it's not always pleasant to use.
