The BOJ is a funny institution, it's unlike the Fed in that it does like to surprise markets. That's what Paul Volcker used to do back when he had the worst inflation ever in the US. So how likely is it then do you think that we might see perhaps something like yield curve control adjusted at the next meeting? Yeah, not too likely. Ueda so far has become a very good communicator. He keeps saying that he just wants to be sure that inflation is a stably and sustainably at 2%.
