In your book viral, you suggest it might have been a lab leak. There's more evidence now suggesting that it probably was a lab leak as opposed to just having to coincidentally be in the web market across the street from the lab where they were studying this very virus. So what's been new and what do we do about it now that we have this new knowledge? And that's really related to the broader questions of why has information become so polarizing about this topic.
When Matt Ridley joined us most recently, he and co-author Alina Chan - a molecular biologist specializing in gene therapy and cell engineering - had just released Viral: The Search for the Origin of COVID-19, which defends why people ought to take the SARS-CoV-2 lab-leak hypothesis seriously.
