Is Theory Ahead of Engineering?

Asgud: In large part, theory is ahead of engineering. Do you have any prediction for a point, even if it will happen in your working career? When do you think some of this theoretical work will be practically implemented at large and important scale problems? I hope that in my lifetime i will be able to implement at least some part of the work that i am doing. This is the best i can hope for.
