We become an extension of our parents own unmet needs until we have a parent who based on their own childhood has been able to know who they are tend to their own unique body make sure that they're always calm grounded or more consistently than not calm grounded and regulate it. Make sense of again emotions and stories and older narratives that they might be bringing from their childhood that are impacting these reactive moments and being a grounded presence only when that is the case can they then show up in that safe objective exploratory curious space.
