The Rise and Fall of the Fairy Tale in China
Fairy tale was brought in largely based on the particular social political movement at the turn of century. Chinese thought, well, through tales, we can promote children education and women education. So that was part of the whole May 4 movement, new culture movement. Yet, when they borrowed the concept, they actually borrowed the Japanese translation of a western world fairy tale.
