How to Form an Inside View
An inside view is starting with some confusing question and zooming in on that, breaking down the complex question into a series of simpler claims. If AGI exists and wants to cause an X risk, it will likely succeed at this. There are actions we can take today that will make AGI X risk less likely. As inside views get more sophisticated, what they in practice look like is something like taking each of these points and then expanding those into sub claims.
