Introduction

Deep Dish on Global Affairs looks at the hit new Netflix political thriller. Carrie Russell plays Kate Weiler, a career Foreign Service Officer who thought she was on her way to a post in Afghanistan. Maryam Safie is currently a senior advisor in the State Department's Bureau of Cyberspace and Digital Policy. She also served as a task force leader behind a report produced with the Truman Center which outlined ways the State Department can become more diverse, equitable, and innovative.
