The Problem of Being in Western Thought
The problem of being really is the specter lurking at the heart of Western thought. We can't even talk about reality without using the predictive form of to be all the time. So we're stuck with being, and from medieval metaphysics right down to the philosophy of Martin Heidegger. The obsession with finding being in its pure form keeps sort of erupting forth from Western ideas. But if being is esoteric, doesn't that mean that I'm using the idea of being in both its existential and predictive forms?
