The buddha really values the importance of the spiritual community. We also have seeds of buddhahood within us and the potential for freedom, for love in us. So we're cultivating that as best as we can. The metaba a is a very good starting point, a sensual starting point, for that. It helps us resolve that sense of being separate from another person.
