The Differences Between Cash and Digital Currency
The ECB is investigating two major forms of digital currency. One would be money on an account or through an inter-military that would hold these CBDCs. The second version, which would be more similar to cash, would be like some form of peer-to-peer currencies such as prepaid cards and phones. Jocelyne Borsuk: Central banks can take advantage of the technology in a bid to mimic the properties of paper cash without doing it digitally.
