The Compulsion to Repeat

Freud described himself in a letter to fleece, not as a man of science, but as a concistodore. So it's almost as if in this one paragraph, freud has managed to plot the very coordinates of psychoanalysis itself. We're left with the notion that the compulsion to repeat is inherent in the very instincts themselves and can also be produced by anything that reminds us of this inner compulsion to repeat.
