The Battle of Mount Baden in Gildas's Account
Gildas is our only surviving source from that period. He doesn't give us a list of battles, a list of events or dates. So we don't know much about other than the fact it is a vital turning point in the post-Roman era but anything else is really sort of guesswork. Nenius' story appears in a developed form there and he's spoken down to 900 years after Ambrosius Aurelianus. But sometimes we get different accounts of the people, but Ambrosius seems to be referred to by later writers as the Dragon Prophecy - which sounds not so dramatic at all.
