Is There a Major Source of Alkali?

Citrate and lactate are major source of alkaline. We use both of these as alkali. I think in our case, we might be biased because when we get involved, typically patients have acute kidney injury. So perhaps the sort of acetate becomes more relevant for those patients. But going back to Roger's point, I don't think we get consulted when patients are involved. And the patients have a normal kidney function and get a TPN. It could be because they get acetate. I'm not sure.
