The Stranger and the Plague
The Plague is a long torture, a sort of Pacifician effort on his part. When he was writing it, he said he wanted to throw it away. He kept rewriting it very different from the stranger which he wrote practically in six weeks in a hotel room in Paris. And yeah, I think it was come number two after the stranger in terms of popularity. With the COVID pandemic, it took a leap to number one.
