The Importance of Faith in the New Testament
Paul says we fix our eyes on things that are unseen because the things that we see are temporary. The wicked getting their due either vicariously through Jesus or retributively and the righteous, that is those who have been swept up into the righteousness of Jesus Christ. All these people listed as examples of faith in Hebrews 11 have three things in common - they belong to Jesus through faith. They had pain in their lives and they took the long view.
