How to Give a Painless Injection to a Patient
Anesthetic that does not have epinephrine in it for the first injection in each site and dispense slowly. For injections on the palate I like to take the back blunt end of a mouth mirror handle and push with moderate pressure and twist so it rolls back and forth right next to the side of the injection. After about 15 seconds or until I see the tissue blanching I will stop rolling the mirror handle and continue to dispense anesthetic slowly and move the needle towards the desired depth. These techniques take a little bit longer but patients are usually very thankful and you earn their trust immediately. They are also more likely to leave a nice 5 star Google review which will give other prospective patients
