We're Cut Off From Empathy When Someone Is Different

Research shows we're less empathetic with people that in some way seem different. Rumi says, your path is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you've built against it. There's no other way we're going to end racism or social injustice, the cycles of violence, unless we who are consciously intending to wake up in our own lives with people that we have locked into blaming, soften our heartsome.
