Is There a Market That Determines What Is Useful?
I think it's important to stress like all of government like modern science is overwhelmingly government science and ultimately decided by politicians and by extension voters. So when you hear like, this scientist says like that is coming from a process where some in effect, King dictated what would be explored or how it would be publicized. I mean, your these bodies become bureaucracies that are part of government that are quite insulated from democratic politics. They end up getting captured much more effectively by corporate interest than democratic voters. And the people who make the guidelines have no reason to change because their corporate sponsors want the guidelines in a certain way.
