The idea of observability is based in science. It's a scientific concept of control theory, i believe. When we talk about alert triggers, that stuff, they're all based on those signals that you get out of your application. So that's a layer on top of being able to alert when things happen. We used to just say, did i get more than 500 errors in the last ten seconds? Ok, go and get somebody out of bed.
