The FBI warns that Sextortionist are now scraping publicly available images of their targets, like innocuous pictures and videos posted on social media platforms. These images are then fed into deep fake content creation tools that turn them into sexually explicit content. The UK has recently introduced a law in the form of an amendment to the online safety bill that classifies the non-consensual sharing of deep fakes as a crime.
