If a student messed up or got into trouble, they were beaten with a heavy rod on the ass,. In front of the entire student body. Sod must have seen this happen many, many times while he was enrolled in the school. He decided he kind of liked watching these punishments. And even more startling to him, he kind of like receiving them too.
