The Influence of Culture on Personality

Are there any cultures in which you don't find the big fit, or something like answer to that question is no. There's an obvious effect of culture on personality but it isn't so much that it makes it completely immaterial. The japanese are my favorite example, because if you ask japanese people to say something nice about themselves, it's almost like they refuse. So when we give people our relatively artificial self reprt inventories, and we ask them, how conscientious are you? Japanese culture is almost always the lowest. Which makes absolutely no i wasn't expecting that at all. But it's young. It's nothing in particular to conscientiousess.
