How to Design a Question to Get People to Respond

The way in which you sort of design an authorance so that it creates an expectation of a response is very important. You can then manipulate the degree of expectation and make it more pressuring or less pressuring. Like, imagine you meet somebody on the bus and somebody's looking at you, you catch their gaze and now there's a window. Now you need to talk because standing at each other in silence is very awkward. There seems to be something about that that is kind of very key for our social interaction.
