The Future of Biomechanics
In circa 2000 if you ran try to do a simulation of a 2D walking model one step on the fastest computer we had in the lab that would take maybe a week or two just continual runtime and now we can knock those out in 30 minutes an hour or two hours on my laptop. The direct collocation has really revolutionized optimal control simulations I think that's probably just a starting point. We're going to be able to do so much more informing modeling and simulation studies which is what I'm thinking of but also a whole range of just experimental studies where we get much more insight on how things work inside the body. As algorithms develop and computers get faster things just become feasible that we couldn
