Erastus, Trophemus and linus are all mentioned in verse 21 of Paul's letter to timothy. They had lived in several different locations, corinth, rome and ephesus among them. Given the considerable danger of travelling during the winter months, paul wants timothy to make his way to him as soon as possible. In verses three and four, paul describes the process of drifting away from and then rejecting the truth. What are the stages that we might discern in such a process? And what might be some of the signs that they are occurring?
